Another piece of decorated paper. The author recalls it was used by florists to wrap flowers. This particular pattern seems to be a bric-a-brac of several other patterns.

Joss paper 2: Clothes
In Singapore, makers of joss paper sell sets of papers, containing all the necessary offerings for a particular spirit or divinity. The following pieces of joss paper come from such a set, intended for worshiping one's ancestors. They represent clothes.
The clothes come in an elegant pattern of key-frets and foliage. They come in red and green, as seen below.

Although these examples are patterned, some examples are plain. Joss paper makers also produce smaller versions of such clothes, intended as an offering to those who died in infancy.

Geometric paper
Another decorated paper, this one from Singapore. It is best described as a sort of hexagonal lattice. It is of approximately the same age as the blankbook featured here. Indeed, the author saw this paper on the cover of one of the blankbooks in the bindery.

Indonesian blankbook (4)
Yet another pocket-sized Indonesian blankbook, this time printed in a fiery shade of red. This particular example is made by Gelatik Kembar of Semerang, Java. Their name refers to the Padda, or Java sparrow, known as Gelatik in Indonesian. You can see a pair of these birds on the cover.
This maker is evidently of some renown. Googling the name "Gelatik Kembar", you find all manner of online shops, selling similar books. Aside from making these beautifully patterned blankbooks, the company also seems to make all manner of paper stationery.

Floral paper
Two samples from a fairly large sheet of floral paper. This was printed in China, in the 2010s.
What is most curious about the paper, is that the colours seems to have been printed without any regard to the pattern. On closer inspection, it seems that the maker has printed the dark background upside-down with respect to the red roses and blue flowers. The sheet was thus rejected, which would also explain why it was found wrapping a ream of other, higher quality papers.

Japanese decoratve cloth tape
Although this is not, strictly speaking, a piece of decorative paper, I find it so beautiful that it would be a shame not to feature it here.
This is a strip of Japanese decorative tape. It consists of a strip of cloth, with an adhesive backing, much like a sicker or roll of scotch/duct tape. What sets it apart, however, is the extremely attractive pattern printed on it. It consists of flowers and leaves with a red background, and gold outline.

Annonay paper 4
The following paper forms the cover of an account book, roughly from the 1980s-1990s. The paper is somewhat dull with age, but nonetheless, is similar to most examples of the genre.
